Pumpkin Festival

Last weekend was the Morton Pumpkin Festival. Now Justin's not really a "festival" type of person- the huge crowds, loud noises, and rides are not his cup of tea. But I enjoy them! So my loving husband took me to the festival just so I could have some fun riding the rides. Isn't he so sweet?

He says the only reason he will go to fairs and festivals is for the food. *laughs* Well I say, who goes to a fair and doesn't get some funnel cake? So that's exactly what we got. :)

1001 Nachts is one of my favorite rides! It gives you such a thrill as if you're dropping while they swing you round and round. I love that sensation!

The Pharoah's Fury, now this ride is like your on a huge swing with a giant pushing you. What's not to like?

You cannot tell very well in this picture, but if you look on the back row to the right I'm the crazy girl with her hands in the air. :D

The lines for the famous pumpkin ice cream were waaay too long. So Justin and I cheated and he bought us some from Culvers.

Such a cutie, right?... lol

*Happy sigh* I love him so stinkin' much.

Well that's all for now! Until next time!

Quick Chicago Trip

I wrote this post over a week ago but I totally forgot to post it to the blog. Oops... Anyway, here it is. :)

On Labor Day (which feels like forever ago now) Justin and I were asked to take a quick trip up to Chicago to pick up a beautiful Hope Chest handmade by Grandpa Fennema. He made it for for Ashly's 16th birthday which was that Thursday. I had just been telling Justin how I wanted to go on a road trip just to drive somewhere together. A quick trip to Chicago seemed like the perfect answer! Since Justin got off of work on Labor Day it worked out wonderfully. It was a very relaxing time where we both had nothing to do except talk and drive together.

Pip is settling in so nicely, we couldn't help but take him along for the ride. At first he wasn't sure what was going on but after awhile he settled in for a nice long nap.

Pip also enjoyed standing on the seat so he could look out at all the cars passing. Such a little acrobat.

I was able to snap a beautiful picture of our Nation's flag on our drive.

Bridges: For some it strikes terror to their hearts, for others it's a fun ride looking down at what you're crossing or up as you pass through them.

Mmmmm... good stuff (although I wish mine where cherry coke instead of pepsi). What better way to travel than to pump your body full of sugar while you have to sit still for three hours? ;)

Here are two people who make life fun no matter what they are doing together.

And that ends our quick trip to Chicago!

Until next time!
